Not enough hours in the day

Starting a new company is exciting but my god there really aren’t enough hours in the day. There is so much going on that I just can’t keep up. At 5pm yesterday, we went for a drink over the road and a 20 minute conversation practically doubled my to-do list. So I set my alarm for 5am this morning and was in the office for 5:45 ready to take on the day and grind down my to do list.
So what’s going on? Next week is the Property Investor Show which we are using as our official launch. Although the office continues to have such a buzz and we are closing in on a couple of very nice deals it feels like we have launched already. Ashley has done an amazing job designing our stand and preparing the brochures we will be giving away at the show. Hotels are booked, trains are planned and I have a team of people ready to help man our stand as we welcome new property investors to our company.
I will also be doing a presentation to property investors at the show and decided to go with a slightly risky title of, ‘How I made a million pounds and lost a million pounds in property.’ Perhaps it’s a bit over the top but I pride myself on my honesty, transparency and integrity. I really have made and lost those sums from investing in property so why not tell the story? Property is a wonderful game to be in and it doesn’t matter who you are, property is an important component in your life and you will have your own opinions of it. I am proud of the fact I put my money where my mouth is and that has led to some significant gains and also the subsequent losses.
Aside from the show, last week we travelled to see a big property developer we are looking to partner with. I go back 15 years with this developer so it’s really exciting to pickup the relationship and to see the growth they have made and the quality of their properties is inspiring.
We have also instructed a former colleague of mine to build out our CRM system on a consultancy basis. Whilst CRM systems don’t sound very glamorous to most people, the geek that I am absolutely loves them. A fully functioning CRM system that is specifically designed for our company allows my team to flourish, be more efficient with their time and provide better reporting to our investor and developer clients. Sacks Properties is ultimately an agency and therefore we must focus on quality of service. There are numerous ways of enhancing this service but for me, it starts by us having good data on all aspects of the business so we can utilise that data to perform.
We have also finalised terms on the first property deals we will be offering to our investors. This was a huge step forward for us in ensuring that we can access properties that cannot be found on the open market. These properties are located across the UK, covering key strategic locations such as Manchester, Birmingham and London. They offer good rental returns and more importantly significant capital growth opportunities in addition to the discount we have managed to exclusively negotiate.
Anyway, time to get preparing that presentation for next week at the show!
